PHA & HAZOP

Process Hazard Analysis or PHA is process industry’s most go-to tool for analyzing qualitative risk. PHA can be conducted uses several techniques such as:
Etc.
But the approach of all these methods remains fundamentally same which is depicted below for easy understanding:
HAZOP is the most structured, most popular tool for PHA studies and is easy to follow. Like all other methods, HAZOP requires an expert chairman or facilitator to control and create constructive outputs from a team session.
Our PHA facilitators are experts of design before risk analysis and thus are able to generate better and more feasible (practical) outputs for the same set of data when analyzed by core risk engineers.
A PHA can be conducted at any stage of design but is best when carried out conceptual design for both greenfield and brownfield work.
Many companies also benefit with HAZOP conducted for their running operations as it allows the teams to integrate better due to a fresh understanding of their systems and utilities. HAZOP not only makes systems safer but at times allows optimization of process as it considers business losses as well apart from injury, fatality, environmental losses.
